Want Parks on our Waterfront? Public Comments Accepted for only 1 more Week!
The Mott Haven-Port Morris Waterfront Plan was voted by overwhelming majority for inclusion on the draft list of priority projects of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Open Space Plan!
Never before has our community had a priority project in the plan! The Open Space Plan serves as a blueprint for the state’s land conservation efforts, identifying priority open space projects for protection and guiding State Environmental Protection Fund investments. From now through December 17th, the public is being asked to provide comments on the plan.
"I support The Mott Haven-Port Morris Waterfront Plan."
And forward to us your comments, thanks!

Farmers and Holiday Market
The South Bronx Farmers Market is thrilled to announce our first Farmers and Holiday Market, taking place at the Bronx Museum of the Arts on Saturday, December 13th from 11am - 5pm. After a successful first market season ending in November of this year, we are continuing to keep it fresh and local for the residents of the South Bronx, bringing winter herbs, farm- based tinctures, teas and salves, locally-baked breads, chutneys and spiced salts. Shoppers can utilize their SNAP/EBT cards for qualifying food purchases. Holiday Market attendees will have a chance to shop local and shop small this holiday season; in addition to goods from our farmers, vendors will include local artisans, crafters and artists selling gifts with a small carbon footprint and a lot of heart. Hand-knit and crocheted winter accessories, up- cycled planters and woodcuts, handmade jewelry and silkscreened tote bags, spiced Himalayan salts, and hand-carved cedar vases and candleholders and vases will all be available for purchase. There will be tons of art, craft, food and fun! Tons!
Yes, We Too Need Your Support!:-)
About 90% of the individual contributions we receive to carry on our work come in December. We will send another email to review the year and ask for your contribution.
If you have come to the park once, or count on it as a safe haven for your family, if you just moved into the neighborhood or have been here for decades, we ask you to consider making a monetary contribution to our non-profit organization that serves so many in our immediate community and beyond.
Donate easily here online.
Ten dollars or a thousand dollars, we welcome what you can contribute.
If you want help us and reach out to your network, we can provide brochures you can include in your holiday cards with a personal note. Any other ideas are welcomed!
Thanks again for all you do!
