Randall’s Island

We work on a number of issues related to Randall’s Island, a gem of a green space that is being more and more privatized and de-natured. We have led bike, walking and canoe tours of the island for over ten years. We advocate for greater access it the island itself, equity in distribution of permits, accountable land-use planning, for more green space and against the use of artificial turf.

Major victory in multi-year campaign: Waterpark defeated!
We led the effort to protect 26 acres of open space and wetland habitat from a no-bid deal to create a corporate waterpark with the legal team at NYC Environmental law and Justice Project.
